Governance Council

Who We Are

The governing board for the Desert Mountain SELPA, Charter SELPA, and Desert Mountain Children's Center is the CAHELP Governance Council. The Governance Council is made up of superintendents/CEOs of member local education agencies to the SELPAs. Our philosophy is that all students with disabilities be provided a free appropriate public education (FAPE) in the least restrictive environment (LRE).

What We Do

Under the oversight of the Governance Council, member local education agencies work together to provide for the coordinated delivery of programs and services, and to assure equal access to such programs and services to eligible students with disabilities requiring special education and related services. More information about the responsibilities of the Governance Council can be found in the Local Plan.
