Interagency Agreements

What are Interagency Agreements?

The Desert Mountain SELPA and Charter SELPA participates in interagency agreements that call for the joint provision of services to children with disabilities in accordance with their individualized education program (IEP). Interagency agreements are completed at the state and local levels to carry out regulations from the federal and state government including fiscal responsibility for the provision of services for children with disabilities. Member school districts and charter schools (also known as local education agencies) in the SELPAs must ensure that interagency agreements or other mechanisms for interagency coordination are in effect to ensure services required for a free appropriate public education (FAPE) are provided.
