Regional Services
Regionalized Services through the SELPA
As a multi-district SELPA, we help ensure that local education agencies (LEAs) receive coordinated, regionalized services in accordance with California Education Code section 56368(a). These services are designed not only to support students with disabilities but also to strengthen the capacity of educators and school systems to provide inclusive, effective, and equitable learning environments.
Comprehensive Support for Students & Staff
Our regional services address the academic, social-emotional, and behavioral needs of students while equipping LEA staff with the training, consultation, and resources necessary to implement best practices. We provide targeted supports to educators in areas such as:
- Autism services
- Behavior intervention
- Early childhood special education development
- Reading and Literacy
- Secondary education
- Social-emotional support
- Speech and language therapy best practices and network
- Trauma-invested practices
- Use of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) to ensure instruction is accessible to all
Individualized Education Program (IEP) & Instructional Support
In collaboration with LEAs, our team assists with:
- IEP compliance
- Facilitating IEP meetings to support meaningful family and educator participation
- Providing direct consultation to LEA staff, including general education teachers, specialists, and administrators
- Offering paraeducator training and ongoing collaboration to enhance classroom effectiveness
Family & Community Partners
Regionalized services also include family engagement strategies, literacy and reading interventions, and secondary transition supports to prepare students for postsecondary opportunities. By partnering with families and community stakeholders, we foster consistency across settings and build strong, supportive networks around each student.
Building Inclusive Educational Systems
Through these coordinated efforts, the SELPA provides LEAs with regionalized expertise and resources that create responsive, connected educational systems. In doing so, we fulfill our mandate under California Education Code section 56368(a) to ensure that every student with disabilities has access to the supports they need to thrive, while educators are empowered to sustain inclusive and effective practices across school districts.
