Happy Teacher Revolution is an international movement with the mission to organize and conduct support groups for educators in the field of mental health and wellness to increase teacher happiness, retention, and professional sustainability. Support groups will explore topics relating to caregiver burnout, vicarious trauma, the importance of self-care in the field of education, and the necessity for teachers to feel empowered to claim happiness as their own as a “best-practice” to help students.
Through the power of community, educators have the space to empathize with one another and participate in a social support network proven to alleviate the stress associated with teaching. Building mentally healthy teachers, who can subsequently build emotionally healthy students, is a benefit that we must take seriously in the education community.
