Autism Introduction & Connection to Our Practices

This overview of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) describes the primary characteristics of autism, social communication differences, repetitive behaviors, and the impact both have on daily functioning. Additionally, participants will be introduced to a list of 28 Evidence-Based Practices (EBPs) for autism and how these EBPs can be used to support individuals with autism in the home, community or school. Participants will view an online module, Introduction to ASD independently then participate in a scheduled 2 hour session on connecting this information back to our practices whether in the classroom, in the community or in a home. This time will include opportunities to ask questions, share insights and access additional resources & examples of supports in practice.
