How is Structured Literacy tackled using the Orton-Gillingham (OG) methodology with students third to fourth grade on up who still need foundational reading skills? OG is an approach to reading that is multi-sensory, phonetic alphabetic, analytic, structured, sequential, repetitive, cumulative, diagnostic and prescriptive. This course focuses on developing an OG lesson plan that primarily focuses on concepts of orthography, syllabication, and morphology. Vocabulary and comprehension will also be discussed in relation to the OG approach.
